Springfield Health & Rehabilitation wins state's highest rating

Springfield, VT

An inspection team from the State of Vermont has awarded Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center a "deficiency-free" rating -- the highest rating possible.

"This is a real tribute to the commitment and teamwork of our staff, " said administrator Suzanne Anair. "We are all extremely pleased that the state inspectors recognized the high quality of care that we provide to our residents."

Federal guidelines mandate that all skilled nursing facilities in Vermont undergo an annual inspection. Inspection teams generally spend several days observing all facets of the center's operations, paying particular attention to quality of care, quality of life and resident rights.

"We were surveyed on over 500 different conditions," said Anair, "so to receive a 'deficiency-free' rating is truly a high honor."

2011 has been a good year for Springfield Health and Rehabilitation; in May the center was named a Gold Star Employer by the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living. In June the center received a Bronze Quality Award from the American Health Care Association.

To thank staff members for their hard work, and to celebrate this latest achievement, the center hosted a staff barbecue on Saturday, August 26.

Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center is a 102-bed skilled nursing center providing a wide array of comprehensive rehabilitation and long-term care services.
